This is my favorite Viva location! Yes, the external part of the location is not ideal- there's a lot of trash and not the safest place but I'll take this one over the one in Del Paso Heights. This store has the full bakery, and you can find an assortment of pan dulce (my fave) and the different conchas you postre, flan, tres leches, etc. The pan dulce is also fresh and soft! This rating is just for the store as the hot food section is a different story (no tengo palabras para eso ahora mismo)! The cashiers and bakers were helpful and the store itself was clean and nicely lit. There's a lot of produce to choose from priced moderately. The other vivas do not have the wide array of pan dulce so this is my go-to when I'm in the area.
I lived in this neighborhood from 2016-2021 and would often go to this grocery store for the reasonably priced and fresh produce + the salsa bar. Went back tonight while visiting the area and the pico is still the best around when you don't want to do that much chopping yourself. Excellent and friendly service, even to my fake blonde monolingual self who can't seem to even say "gracias" correctly in Spanish. I don't eat meat so I cannot speak to the freshness of meat dept.
